FRED was developed for the Office of Research and Economic Development as a marketing tool and to promote collaboration among faculty with similar research interests
In its original form, updates had to be mailed in by the faculty which were then updated on the database by the developer.
I developed an administrator interface to update faculty information. Added LDAP authentication, so faculty can update their profiles themselves. Revamped the presentation to emphasize the faculty research interests. After the new design went live, site traffic went up 240%. I received a lot of praise from the VP of Research for my work on thus project.
